Mixed Media flower Greeting card for all occasions.

A flower tells a lot more than just words.
That is why this one is born:
I was getting impatient and took the picture before it is completely dried.

That is not the point; You need to know how you can make one just like that, right?

I will tell you what I did in step by step.

1. crochet a flower.
2. add the button to the center.
3. Spray some paint on blank greeting card
4. Let the paint dry.
5 Attach the flower to the painted card.
(We can stitch the flower or glue it to the card.)
6. Look and admire your work.
That being said, I want to show you how I made the inside
Added a sheet of cardstock on each side to write a message.

Now, take a few minutes to make a simple flower card.
If you like to buy mine, visit BinduDesigns on Etsy. I might list it there.

A fabric greeting card for all occasions.

Blank greetings cards and denim...
The inspiration is to make a flower.
So cut few circles of different diameters from denim, added a bead to center Voila:

I added acrylic paint to the flower. Do you like to recycle old denim?  A fabric flower is a great way. Make a flower, glue it to a blank card, and you got a greeting card. it is that easy.

First of all, cut 4 circles of different diameters. Not difficult, because, you have many circle objects around the hose to use as template.
Then cut them out.
I stitched them together with a bead in the center.
I cut slits on each of the circle and fluffed it out.
I used some acrylic paint to give the flowers a bit of pink.
Cut a piece of patterned paper and stitched flower on it.
Now, glue the baby to the pre cut card.
Is it easy?

If you don't have the time to make it, but like to buy, come on over to my Etsy shop, I is available there.
Do you think, you can do anything else with this type of flower? Share them on comments. Love your comments.
Also, remember sharing is caring.

Another mixed media heart greeting card

BinduDesigns loves to make hearts. You are going to think.
first of all, heart is an easy pattern to cut.
It is simple but meaningful.
So, here is another heart greeting card.
The photo turned out better than yesterday's card.  Don't you think too?

I am listing this in my etsy shop.
You know, i abandoned the shop for some time. I became not interested in selling and self promotion for a long time.  Recently with the kid in college and tight finances, I started thinking, if things are good, I can get money to buy my supplies.
What is your reason for online selling? Please do share in the comments.

Mixed Media heart greeting cards

Heart is an easy shape to draw. Easy to cut and can be used with so many ideas.
So, here is a blank greeting card , to be used in any kind of situation.

I cut a denim heart, and a patterned fabric heart. I used "Heat N Bond" to join them.
The "L" frame is from patterned paper.
If you like to make one:
Step i. Cut a fabric heart.
Step 2: place the fabric heart on top of the denim and draw a heart slightly larger than your fabric heart.
Step 3. Place Heat N Bond between the two hearts and iron them to fuse together.
step4:Glue the heart to the center of the blank card.
Ste5: cut some patterned paper to make a border (optional)

If you are making one, share it on G+ with me.

Incase you don't have time to make one, but would like to get one,  just head over to my Etsy shop to buy.

Love What You Do: Mixed media wall hanging

Do you all love what you do ?I can tell you, I love what I do most of the time.
I am trying to make it a mixed media wall hanging.

It is not finished yet. Needs more of that finishing touches.  It took a lot of time to be the above stage. Oh, I loved every minute of working on it.

first of all I started with paint.

It was a blast. I had to wait for it to dry.

Then I started doing running stitches. Watching TV and doing running stitch was just very pleasing. I even forget to eat in time. Want to see the stitches a bit closely?

The text I printed out, and cut it out .
Remember the other wall hanging I made for my daughter?

I used the same words. But printed and cut out in different order to make this one.

I didn't stitched it. But, just used mod podge to paste it on to the fabric.
It needs a loop to go on the wall. Now, are you getting inspirations to make a mixed media art?

Butterfly towels.

The wash towels are just plane janes.
I love butterflies. It reminds me of my home country and the native place Kerala.
So, purple butterflies on pink towels.
What is the use of it?
You may want to know.
I love to keep one in my bag instead of a handkerchief. It is pretty and it is very absorbent cotton.

I can hang in my kitchen to dry my dishes.

may be i can put it on the fridge handle to avoid the smudges.

I can use it to wrap two cookies to take to workplace as a snack.

I can think of so many uses. What you do if you get them ?

Mindfullness

We all heard "Be Mindful" . That means, be careful, be in the moment etc, right?
I was introduced to Mindfulness meditation few weeks back. The course was led by Mr.Lou Carcasole of Radical Growth.

Mr. Carcasole started as an Engineer and at present he is a meditation instructor.
Through the course, he taught us to be carefully put our attention to the breathing and to our mind , but not responding to the stories our mind is telling us.
I had the belief that meditation is the  state where we don't have any thoughts at all. He said, it is being noticing what the thoughts are and not physically responding to them.
In this world of stress filled days, Mindfulness Meditation is a great tool to reduce the stress and to be more aware of our thoughts and situations.
To me the seven weeks course is a real eye opener to listen to my inner thinking process. It taught me I don't have to act upon what my mind tells me.
Most of us are angry at hurtful things other people did or said to us. With mindfulness meditation, we can just watch those events like a movie and can stay without getting emotionally responding.

I strongly recommend Mr.Lou Carcasole's classes to anybody interested in Mindfulness.
You can visit his website RadicalGrowth and know more about it.

NB: I am not paid or compensated in any way for this recommendation.
